What a day!
Today my sister was down from SLC, and we had to put the family dog down. Truth be told, I have never been a huge fan of this dog, he's a big old pit bull. But my sister loved the dog SOOOO much. So I went into the vet with her while the dog was put down. Wow, that was emotional! I cant believe how hard it was, I cant imagine how hard it must have been for my sister, because I felt like I was falling apart. Way to go Jess, on being strong!

Hope to remedy that REAL soon!

Birthday Boy!
Kyler turned 3 on November 6th! He was SO excited for his birthday...I am thinking that may just be an understatement! On his actual birthday, well, we didnt do much. Because that night we were celebrating Grandpa Stouts birthday. Of course as we lite grandpas cake candles, and I could see the excitement in Kylers eyes, I thought we may have a problem on our hands....Kyler of course figured we were singing for him (as he should have thought) So when we were done singing, he went to blow out the candles, and Joels family who forgot it was Kylers actual birthday started yelling "STOP" Naturally Kyler burst into tears, he didnt know why he was getting in trouble for blowing out candles on hos birthday....(of course I have a hard time undertanding why you get mad at ANY kids blowing out candles, who cares who's birthday it is) I quickly explained that it was his birthday today and we re-lit the candles and sang to Kyler.
On Saturday we celebrated his birthday, he woke up to his bedroom doorway all decorated up (He loved that) Then we had waffles, his favorite. Later we went and fed the ducks at the Bloomington golf course and the had a party at grandma and grandpa Foremasters house for him. He was beaming! We finished the day by eating at Pasta Factory and then going home and having a movie night where we watched Willow (remember that old one?)
Happy Birthday Sweetie!

New Blog
I just started a new blog to 'house' all the stuff I make ;-) The link can be found on my blog list. It's called pea pod creations.....I am thinking that the name I am going to use for some labels I'll have made up, I figured I'll see how I like it by naming my new blog that for a while ;-)

Getting ready for the BIG 3

Kyler turns 3 on Friday, and he getting pretty excited. We added the music and changed the blog for him, he always comes over and opens up the computer (because this is my home page) and dances around to the birthday music he picked out. Maricela came and picked him up and took him out for some birthday pictures (he was getting sick that day and you can see it in his eyes) but he was still excited to be getting ready for his birthday!

Sew fun
I was looking at some sewing mag that posted fun crafty sites to check out on the web of peoples blogs, and I read them all....how funny! I never would have guessed that I would have already found the 'cool' blogs. Makes me feel a little special. I am thinking of making some little clothing labels for some outfits I make, but I dont want them to say my name I just want a cute little name to represent the stuff I make. Any ideas? I just cant decide on a name.

Halloween Party
Last night the Young Womens and Young Mens in our ward threw their annual Halloween party (great job Robyn and Ryan, by the way). This has become the highlight of our october festivities over the years. This year we dressed up as the Super Stout's our own family of Super Heroes. I made the costumes (and finished them in just the nick of time, about 15 minutes before the party).
I love dressing up as a family, however about two nights ago as I was working on the costumes Joel commented on how each year it takes longer and longer to get costumes ready...of course we have more kids. The best is when he was complaining about all the 'work' involved.....hmm. I'd like to say that all he did is trace and cut the lightning blots out. Maybe it's just me but when he said that i just started laughing. Darn those complicated time consuming lightning bolts! I sure do love my husband! When he was cutting out the lightning bolts he also said that he really hates all this 'crafty stuff'......hmmm, once again may I remind you, it was ONLY cutting out lighting blots. By the way he was talking you would have thought I had him sewing up flowers or something. What a crack up!
I am hating that I dont have a camera to take pictures of these costumes, I really was happy with the way they turned out. Maybe I can get someone to take a picture of us on Halloween so I can post it!

Hey Sucker Sucker
Confession:
I have always thought that little babies who suck their thumbs are so cute. I dont care that people say you dont want a thumb sucker, because I always have. I think a little baby sucking their thumb is just adorable...but, none of my kids have ever sucked their thumbs, until now. Parlee has started sucking her thumb, and not just as a mistake, she spits out her pacifier and puts in her thumb. Or wakes up from sleeping and puts her thumb in and is able to fall back to sleep. I just LOVE it. It's so adorable to see her sleeping with that little thumb in her mouth.

cinnamon bears
Yesterday, while heading to Vegas I gave Kyler a cinnamon bear, he put it in his mouth and exclaimed "woah, that's a really hot dude"

KyLeRs BiG AdVeNtUrE!
Joel took Ky to work with him on Thursday, up to SLC. It was just an overnight trip and Ky was pretty excited about it. We packed all his clothes in his Thomas the Train backpack, he was way excited.
Joel and Kyler left and picked up Dan and Phillip who were also going....this is when Kyler decided that perhaps this is not what he wanted to be doing. As soon as they picked up Phillip, whom Kyler doesnt know, he started crying. Joel said he was starting to get some real stranger anxiety. They pulled over at Browse and moved people around in the truck, Joel talked to Kyler and he seemed to be doing better. I called them at about the time they hit Filmore, I asked to talk to him. As soon as he heard my voice he started crying again, saying "I just go mommy's home" It nearly broke my heart! I tried to talk to him and get him excitied about his work adventure, but he remained sad the through the whole conversation.
I talked to him again when they got up to Aunt Tawni's house, needless to say with all of his cousins there, he forgot he was sad. When I talked to him all he said was "mom I play now" and quickly gave the phone back to Joel. I guess all was well.
The next day Kyler also had fun, and then began the journey back home. This time Dan and Phillip were in the welder truck following Joel and Kyler, so the trip started out great. I called at about the time they were in Payson, and Joel informed me he was having some truck problems (gotta love that, he's only had the truck about a week now). Needless to say they could only drive for about 10 minutes at a time. Kyler slept through a lot of this. Unfortunetly not long enough....They didn't get home until 4:30 in the morning. Kyler had spent much of the night worried about the truck and crying from time to time. That trip took them about 10+ hours! I couldn't believe that this is how Kylers first adventure alone with his dad went. The other kids beg for there time alone with Dad, and I just have this little feeling that Kyler wont be asking to go to work anytime too soon.

something about 1st grade
I think it must be the age, but my kids have done some funny things in first grade. I am thinking if I ever had to teach elementary it would be in the first grade, because kids are just so funny. When Joely was in first grade she had this assignment where there were 4 boxes representing different time periods (a baby, now, an adult, a grandparent) she had to draw a picture in each bow representing that period of life....the best was the adult, she drew a picture of me (as a preface, I had just had Kyler, who was an awesome baby who was just happy), I was laying on a bed, with a baby next to me, the baby is creaming complete with the words waa, waa, waa. And above me was the caption, 'so tired, too tired'. I just laughed and laughed when I saw this, it is still hanging on my fridge as a reminder. I thought I was energetic and Kyler was great, but I guess this is the way she viewed me ;)
Now on to Taran, this morning I pulled work out of his backpack and there was a paper with some sentences. I asked him what it was, he said he just had to write some sentences about anything he wanted, this is what his said....
I like to have frens (friends)
I like to play
and hav sleovres (sleep overs)
But my mom dus (does) not let me
Well, dont I just look like the mean mom ;) He can write about anything and he chooses to write about things he loves and how I wont let him do anything fun that he loves...aw, I think I am getting the great mom award yet again.

Anniverary trip to SLC
I just got back from our 4 day trip to SLC for Joel and I's 10 year anniversary. We went and saw The Killers...it was so great! I'd rank that concert right up there with the Police concert. This was the first time Parlee went to a babysitter. My sister jess had the 4 kids for almost 5 hours and they did great. Jess had a Halloween project for them and movies to watch, Parlee did great too. Sunday we took Joels brother Marc and Dan (who works for us) to the SLC temple. We watched the Joseph Smith movie (and I cried and cried like I always do) and we toured our temple square, we actually spent about 5 ours there and still didnt see all that temple square has to offer. All in all it turned out to be a great weekend.

how would you answer the phone?
This morning as we were getting ready for school the phone rang, I asked Taran to answer it. He picks up the phone and says 'Dear Heavenly Father" then he realizes he said the wrong thing and was laughing so hard he could hardly say hello. We all thought it was pretty funny.
Happy First DECADE!
Today is our 10th anniversary. It's funny how 10 years ago I thought that making it to 10 years seemed like FOREVER. But the time flies by much too quickly! So how are we celebrating? Oh, Joels in SLC, so I guess we wont be celebrating together. But tonight Joel is bringing two of his nephews to a Rancid concert and I am going to be enjoying the second half of the book 'The Time Travelers Wife'. However on Saturday we did buy tickets to see 'The Killers' concert in SLC for our anniversary.
Well here is to 10 years and many more decades to come!

RODEO!!
It's rodeo time! I love this time of year, filled with reunions, hot dogs, parades (oh yeah I can't claim that one this year, it's the first year i slacked and didnt put my kids in the children's parade), family, cowboys, and everything else. I just love the rodeo. This year we had a family game night at my house, the best part was the MY TEAM WON!!! We had the Foremaster family reunion on Saturday, they had this geneology poster....or I guess you would say wall hanging, (it was huge) that traced the Foremaster family back to the early 1500's. Grandpa (and Uncle LaVar) rode in with the past Lions presidents on a carriage pulled by huge Priefert horses (bottom picture, grandpa is 2nd to the left and LaVAr is on the right). The rodeo was windy and rainy, I think the worst weather we have ever had at the rodeo. we were all so windblown, the picture of Parlee...or the teeny bit you can see of her is how she spent the entire rodeo. Even though the weather was frightful we still all had fun!

what going on....
Wow, as usual we have been going a million miles an hour. The last few weeks have been eventful, Joels grandpa who had colon cancer and given 6 weeks to live only lasted 3. I was glad my kids had a chance to play with 'the silly grandpa' one last time. His funeral was wonderful, he was in the military so they had a military funeral, I just love those! We had fun in SLC for the funeral playing with cousins, having a game night with the adults and just enjoying the cooler weather. After returning from that I spent the next week preparing for the big stampin get together I do ever year. Preparing tons of samples for display boards and preparing presentations to get new stampers excited about there new hobby. It's tons of work, but lots of fun. Then on Sunday was Parlee's baby blessing and a brunch at our house. The blessing was beautiful, even though the Bishop told me that the deacon holding the microphone was a little more concerned about folding his arms then holding the microphone up to Joel. So needless to say that sacrament room got REALLY quite fast as we all struggles to hear Joels voice. The brunch was great lots of waffles, breakfast casseroles and fruit. I think we all ate more then we should have! ;) After that I have spent the last few days sewing, sewing and more sewing. I made tons of cute flower luggage tags for Jill. Mom helped me sew Nephite costumes for sharing time on Sunday...I still have two more Nephites and and Angel left. So Im almost done preparing for my 10 minute lesson :) And to top everything off I think my camera has now officially broken :( So I ended up with No pictures of the funeral, the blessing, the new projects or anything. Bummer! We'll I better get back to Nephite costumes!

Ky
Kyler has done some pretty funny things this week. Okay so most should make me a little upset, but I cant help it I find some of his 'capers' down right funny!
The other day I found a towel in the toilet, I thought it was odd but I just washed it without giving it too much thought, well this morning Kyler was in going to the bathroom and I find out that he had used a towel instead of toilet paper...I guess from now on if there is a towel on the ground in the bathroom I may need to assume that it's been used as a premium toilet paper :)
A few days ago Kyler was taking a bath, I hadn't put his bubbles in yet...I walked out of the bathroom for a few minutes, and I see Kyler naked running from the fridge to the bathroom. I go in and he is adding Hershey's syrup to the tub, I guess he figured it was a good substitute for bubbles :)
